MERILISA® TSH ELISA Kit — Thyroid Stimulating Hormone Quantitative Assay (96T)

MERILISA® TSH ELISA is a quantitative sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the measurement of Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH / Thyrotropin) in human serum or plasma. TSH is the most sensitive marker of thyroid function — even minor thyroid dysfunction causes significant TSH shifts before T3 or T4 changes are detectable. TSH is the first-line test for all thyroid disorders.

How It Works

Two-site sandwich ELISA: Wells are coated with one anti-TSH monoclonal antibody; a second HRP-conjugated anti-TSH antibody creates a sandwich complex around the TSH molecule. TMB substrate produces a blue color proportional to TSH concentration, read at 450 nm. A standard curve provides quantitative results in mIU/L.

Clinical Significance

• Elevated TSH (>4.5 mIU/L): Hypothyroidism — primary hypothyroidism, Hashimoto's thyroiditis, post-radioiodine, subclinical hypothyroidism
• Low TSH (<0.5 mIU/L): Hyperthyroidism — Graves' disease, toxic goitre, subclinical hyperthyroidism, excess levothyroxine
• Most sensitive indicator for thyroid hormone replacement monitoring
• Screening for congenital hypothyroidism in neonates
