MERILISA® T3 (Total Triiodothyronine) ELISA Kit — Thyroid Function Test (96T)

MERILISA® T3 ELISA is a quantitative enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the measurement of Total Triiodothyronine (T3) in human serum or plasma. T3 is the biologically active thyroid hormone — most of the serum T3 originates from peripheral conversion of T4 to T3. T3 measurement is essential for diagnosing hyperthyroidism, T3 thyrotoxicosis, and monitoring thyroid therapy.

How It Works

Competitive ELISA: Wells are coated with anti-T3 antibody. Patient T3 competes with enzyme-labeled T3 (conjugate) for antibody binding sites. After incubation and washing, TMB substrate produces a color reaction. Absorbance is inversely proportional to T3 concentration.

Clinical Significance

• Elevated T3: Hyperthyroidism, Graves' disease, T3 thyrotoxicosis, early hyperthyroidism (T3 rises before T4)
• Low T3: Hypothyroidism, non-thyroidal illness (sick euthyroid), malnutrition
• Essential for diagnosing T3 thyrotoxicosis (normal T4 but elevated T3)
