AAMI Level 1 isolation gown — the everyday gown for basic patient care, isolation rooms and low-risk contact, where you need cover but not a fluid barrier. Maira Isolation is 35 GSM non-woven.
If there will be any real fluid, this is the wrong gown — go to Level 2 (Standard) or Level 3 (Reinforced). Buying Level 1 for theatre is the most common mistake we see, and it is an expensive one.
Which AAMI level do you actually need
AAMI PB70 grades a gown by how much fluid it keeps out. Buy the level the case needs, not the level the budget likes.

| Level 3 | Moderate fluid. Trauma, emergency, arterial line, most general surgery |
| Level 4 | Highest. Long fluid-heavy surgery, and where pathogen resistance is required |
All four levels are stocked. Reinforced means an extra fabric panel across the chest and sleeves; fully reinforced laminates an impervious film over that critical zone; wraparound versions overlap and fasten at the back, so the surgeon is still covered when they turn away from the field.

One thing hospitals get wrong: sizing. A Level 4 gown that will not close on the surgeon is not a Level 4 gown. Ask us for one sample in the size you think you need before you commit to a carton — we would rather send a sample than take back a wrong order.
