Product details
Filapron is Meril's polyglecaprone 25 synthetic absorbable suture — the subcuticular suture, chosen when the scar is going to be seen.
Why it is used for skin
- Monofilament, so it glides through tissue without sawing and leaves no braid for bacteria to track along
- Short-term absorption profile — holds the skin while it knits, then goes
- High knot pull tensile strength
- Superior handling, which matters on a long subcuticular run
Where it is used
- Subcuticular layer closure
- Skin closure where cosmetic result matters — caesarean, thyroid, paediatric, face and neck
- Soft tissue approximation and ligation

Note on naming: some listings for this range previously read "Polyglactin". That was an error in our catalogue and has been corrected. Filapron is polyglecaprone 25 — a monofilament — not braided polyglactin. If you need braided polyglactin 910, that is our PGLA and Mitsu range.
