PGCL suture — polyglycolide-caprolactone. Synthetic absorbable braided, for soft tissue approximation where the repair does not need to be held for months.
The braid gives the handling and knot security of a classic absorbable, and the caprolactone gives it a softer, more pliable feel than plain PGA.
The neighbouring choices, all stocked: PGLA (polyglactin 910) for the standard braided absorbable, PDO for a long hold, and Filapron (polyglecaprone 25) for a fast-absorbing monofilament. The barbed knotless version is Pinion.
